Viva Vancouver does some pretty awesome stuff. I love this 3 year pilot project they are doing now.
In 2017, VIVA Vancouver launched a 3-year pilot study to test new approaches to enable more public Parklets and private patios throughout the city.
The study will test a number of things, for example modular design elements and curbside patios that are away from the building.
These measures will allow more restaurants to have patios, test innovative features to support a vibrant patio culture, and make better use of public space. The study will inform both the official parklet program and the Patio Review, launched this year.
