Cognitive Systems Society The UBC CSS is a community for all interested in Cognitive Systems (or Science). Whether you're taki

The Cognitive Systems Society is a student-run organization supporting students in the COGS program, and those with an interest in COGS-related fields such as neuroscience, artificial intelligence, human-computer interfaces, and robotics. We hold a wide range of fun events, including popular licensed events (such as the Welcome back BBQ, Robot-Themed Dance Parties, and Masters of Debate), and academic events (study sessions, Meet the Profs). We also have a lab space with a patio in the basement of the Iona building if you ever want to study or just relax. Volunteering for the CSS is a great way to meet fellow COGS students, contribute to UBC's campus life, and learn valuable leadership skills. The student executive, which organizes events and promotes everything COGS, is elected every spring. You can also get involved through helping out with their events or dropping by weekly meetings which are open to all CSS members.

ROBOT PARTY 2026!!!! 🤖🎉 Check out some highlights from the night and the awesome, COGS-y robots that were made. From feasting on fried chicken 🍗 to getting some questionable 🤨 submissions for the hear-me-out cake 🎂, last (last Friday) night really was a movie 🎥.

Thank you to everyone who joined us; we had so much fun and hope you did too. Good luck to anyone with exams left in this final stretch!! 😁🤗

We are boothing in the nest TOMORROW from 1-5 pm at AMS Club Booth 3! Free red bulls will be provided for purchases over $15, with a limit of one per person as long as supplies last.

Are you looking to find out what Cognitive Systems actually is and if you’re interested? This event is for you! 🫵😎

Join us for Meet the Streams, an engaging evening where prospective students can explore the five COGS streams: Psychology, Linguistics, Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Computer Science. Hear directly from current COGS students, learn what each stream actually looks like in practice, and get honest insight into courses, experiences, and opportunities within the program.

Whether you’re already considering COGS or just curious about how mind, brain, language, and technology connect, everyone is welcome. Come ask questions, network with students & and enjoy pizza with other curious students! ✨
