Claren Academy

New this year, Claren Academy students will take turns having Lunch with the Principal on Wednesdays! With elegant settings, special snacks, and excellent conversation, this is a lovely way for the students to connect with Ms. Gates, and vice versa. 🪴🍿🥤

One very special thing about Claren Academy is that between home room teachers, reading and math groups, fine arts, tech time, recess supervisors, and our very accessible admin team, students end up with relationships with many adults across the school. Families often comment that they value how well we know and care for their kids, and we think those varied and rich relationships are part of the magic. Also, our kids can chat like champs! Come visit and see the magic in action! 💬🦄

We always love the Our Kids Expo for the chance to meet curious, interesting families, but this year was extra fun because we had a prize up for grabs! 🏆🦦🙌

So many families stopped and chatted, asked great questions, and entered to win their very own Ollie! It was only fitting that the winner should be picked by one of our wonderful grade 6 students, whose parents first met us at the Our Kids Expo in 2017! She was 3 years old, but still older than Claren Academy (we were only 1 🐣).

The winner has been contacted and we hope a few more entrants might get one the old fashioned way - by joining Claren Academy! 🤗 Thank you to for another great Expo!

🎶✨ Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Vancouver School of Irish Music to Claren Academy to kick off our Irish Heritage celebrations! 🇮🇪

The students were treated to a performance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Ireland through traditional music. From lively jigs to soulful ballads, the vibrant tunes brought the spirit of Irish music to life.

A huge thank you to the talented musicians from the Vancouver School of Irish Music for sharing their passion and for helping us celebrate Irish culture in such a special way. We’re excited for all the events this week and can't wait to continue honouring the diverse cultures that shape our community! 🍀🎻

🤖✨ Ozobots in Action! ✨🤖

Our students are getting creative with Ozobots! They’re using color codes to program without a computer by drawing paths with markers. 🎨✏️ These color sequences control the Ozobot’s speed, direction, and actions.

The excitement doesn’t stop there – they’re designing mazes, solving challenges, and even integrating storytelling by guiding the Ozobot through a mapped journey! 🚗💨

Such a fun and interactive way to develop problem-solving skills and creativity. 🚀
