Isak Enquist - July 7/9/11
🌊
Class Description:
This class is centered on pouring weight into the floor, accessing the horizontal plane, and generating power through complex spirals. We’ll explore momentum, counter-direction, and the efficient transfer of energy through hands and feet to create grounded, expansive movement.
Rooted in Isak Enquist’s diverse movement background—including Shotokan Karate-Do, Breaking, snowboarding, Graham, Horton, and contemporary forms—the class develops stability as a platform for creativity. Each session includes a physical warm-up, across-the-floor progressions, and phrase work in the center.
Open to professional and emerging dancers alike, this practice emerges from a belief in expanding embodied expression beyond dominant ballet aesthetics. By sharing alternative physical language, this class supports artists in expanding their range, and encourages the reclamation of movement, embodiment, and personal expression.

Class Description:
I love dance class as a site-specific practice, a community gathering space, and a place of witnessing, bonding and multidirectional knowledge sharing.
Warming up improvisationally, we’ll lasso our attention towards the body’s play with physics. We will cover floor work fundamentals, increasing the complexity and range of level and dynamic to culminate in collective dancing. Set phrases are studies of cradling, swinging, slithering, anchoring, yield and rebound, and inversion.
✨TSV Community Week means pay what you can, we just what to dance and share space with our incredible community!
Thank you to our generous teachers for donating their time and skills💙

Class Description:
This class will involve both improvisation and choreographed sequences, with an aim
to feel vibrant in the body. Through explorations that contrast between tension, control,
fluidity, and release, we’ll discover various qualities and dynamics in our dance,
occasionally pulling from my choreographic practice embodying calligraphy as a
movement meditation. Let’s set a fun and focused tone together, that prepares us to
take on the rest of our day.
