It’s almost time to send our next bunch of Design Formation grads into the creative world. Some will go deeper in their studies with one of our transfer institutions, and others will start their creative careers. We can’t wait to see where they end up!
Before we send them off, though, we’ll celebrate all their hard work and creative talents at the 2026 Grad Show. This is the night students get to showcase their work to their friends and family, as well as industry partners and Langara faculty. There will be interactive exhibits, physical structures, digital work, and printed masterpieces.
If you’d like to see this work, we’re keeping the exhibits up and opening our studios to the public on Friday 17 and Monday 19 April. Check the link in our bio for more details.Â

It’s Reading Week at , and we’re missing our students. To keep our minds off this fact, we decided to catch up with one of our alumni, Ana (.art)
Ana moved to Canada from Brazil, already had a degree, but wanted to further her design education. She was interested in Graphic Design, and because she was able to learn about a range of design disciplines in our Design Formation diploma, she found a love for Experience Design and found a whole new career.
If you’re interested in a creative career like Ana was, you might like our program too. Design Formation students learn Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Experience Design, and more. We’re currently accepting applications for our Fall 2026 intake, join us for an info session to learn more.

The 💡Luminous Object Project💡 (aka Wuthering Lights) is a forever favourite project for Design Formation students and faculty. Students are asked to create a luminous object and work through their vision from sketch books and concepts right through to power tools and fabrication. It’s a hands-on project that allows students to bring their ideas into the 3D world and design and build a real life product.

Students are currently conceptualising their luminous objects, and we’d love to show you their process. Follow along for updates 👀
DF Alum: We’d love to see your creations if you still have them!
