Outstanding alumnus, Alex Chen!

Instead of shying away from presenting strong or divisive flavours in his food, Chef Alex Chen is leaning in and taking pride in his roots. He has learned to embrace his culinary heritage and is showcasing Asian cuisines in new ways to his Canadian diners.

Meet the Stubborn Baker, a quadriplegic pastry chef who also happens to be a rugby champ "It's okay if people underestimate me. At the end of the day, that's their problem, not mine. But I take a lot of pride in being able to do the unexpected."

Had the wonderful opportunity to hear Chef Kevin Cherkas speak of the lessons learned in his journey to becoming a restaurant owner. Several culinary and CACE classes were there. Next time I’m in Bali, Indonesia, I will DEFINITELY be checking out Cuca! Amazing, innovative comfort food!! Thanks, Chef!
