Langara nursing students are already contributing to the future of healthcare through applied research. In collaboration with faculty and the Applied Research Centre, students are exploring how to prevent lower leg venous insufficiency, an often-overlooked issue affecting nurse wellbeing.
This project highlights the power of hands-on learning, mentorship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in preparing students for meaningful careers.

Cecilia and Mandy He chose Langara’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program together and built confidence, competence, and compassion step by step.
From hands-on clinical placements and supportive simulation labs to preceptorship at Lions Gate Hospital, their story shows how nursing is demanding, but students are not expected to do it alone.
