Vocalists' Questions:
What time is best to record songs as a vocalist?
A: I would say after 12.
And then there are many other things.
First of all you need to know your voice and if it gets too tired in the evening or wakes up earlier - be guided by that.
Then, it is good to be speaking for about 2 hours before you warm up, not just a silent morning. (Again, if your speaking habits are harming your voice, then speak less or don't speak).
Then, you need to warm up appropriately for your voice and your tasks.
Then, there is food and drinks. You want to stay hydrated prior (!) to your recording session. Drink often in small portions. No bubbles. Water is your safest choice. Can be with honey, some use sweet tea some drink milk but it doesn't work for anyone. Water does. You don't want to be hungry, but also you don't want to be full. Avoid spicy food or crumbles. Dairy food is also known to be bad for your voice. There might be some foods that work for you best, for that you need to experiment. Some like sour, some avoid it, for example.
It is good to also warm up your body (breathe through your nose).
And make sure sleep enough. Sleep affects our vocal cords.
With these rules you can be sure your vocal cords are taken care of.
Good luck and have a good time at the recording session!

Looking for new voice students.
Are you dreaming of better control of your voice? Maybe you want the change the way it sounds? Or struggling to make people understand what you're saying because of your voice condition?
I can help you make it easier.
I can help change the way your voice sounds.
I can give you more control over your voice. Yes, even with medical conditions you can have more control.
When you know the mechanics of your instrument, when you know the way your voice works, when you get control of its parts and details - then you can choose the way it sounds.
And that's what you want, right?
And that, notes, we can do that too :)
I am a certified and experienced voice coach for Singers and Speakers. I am a singer too.
Ask me if you have voice related questions and I'll tell you if I can help you.
