In today's world, it's too easy for us to feel rushed and disconnected. It's all the more important for children to build a sense of belonging in nature - so that, no matter what, they'll always feel connected to something beautiful and vast. ☀️

Silliness is such an important part of building relationships with young children, and - in the right moments, it can be a great way to meet a child's need for social connection & emotional relief. 💚

Humour doesn't have to be used to merely distract children from their problems, it can help us create an inviting window of safety for children to regulate themselves in. When we take children out of a spiral of stress with a bit of laughter, we can then guide them to practice strategies to face their fears head on. 🌱

Oh, and don't worry, if it's not the right strategy for them, young children will be the first ones to humble you with a reminder that you are not as funny as you think... 🫣😆
