Peer Assisted Study Sessions help students understand key concepts and practice skills necessary for academic success in challenging courses. Held in a collaborative group environment and led by an upper-year student, they provide opportunities to work in a small group setting and meet new students!

These sessions are anonymous to the instructor, voluntary, and free! Courses offered this term:
• COMM 191
• COMM 298
• COMM 320
• BUSI 291
• BAAC 551

What does PASS look like?
• Small groups (typically 4-10 students per session)
• Led by upper-year students who did well in the course and are excellent facilitators
• Highly interactive, with a variety of ways to participate
• General session topics identified in advance (based upon the previous week’s course content), but flexible to meet the needs of session attendees
• Midterm and final review sessions are offered before exams.

Look within the course-specific Canvas page for times and dates of sessions. (i.e. within the COMM 191 Canvas course, there is a PASS page with information on times and dates of sessions.) No need to register, you can just drop in!

One-on-one writing appointments with our professional Writing Coach can help with planning, idea development, tone, stylistic improvement, and error recognition. Any genre of writing is suitable; however, this is not an editing service and attendees are expected to participate actively in the conversation.

Appointments are 30 minutes long and will take place in-person in the Writing Support Room, CLC 219. Attendees must bring a printed copy of their work to review during their appointment. Possible writing samples include a draft of an academic assignment, a cover letter, a professional email, etc.

To register for an appointment, visit your Canvas Calendar, click “Find Appointments,” select “CLC: Online,” and hit submit. Click on each appointment to learn more and register.

Our library has a variety of spaces and services to support users looking to access different hardware, software, and databases.

The Digital Media Lab provides hardware and software access and support in relation to both video and audio productions. It is equipped with four dual-screen Apple Mac workstations with access to premiere video, photo, and audio editing software. It also offers a soundproof recording room, a high-quality scanner, and a video-capture station.

The finance labs offer the opportunity to work with real-time tech sector data by providing access to financial databases and software including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and Morningstar Direct. The Wayne Deans Investment Analysis Centre (HA238) is located outside of the library, and the Leith Wheeler Investment Research Lab (CLC222) can be found through the silent study area.
