Thank you to everyone who attended and helped bring the inaugural Crofton House Community weekend to life.

Across three days and multiple events, this special weekend celebrated the lifelong connections and relationships that define the Crofton House community.  We loved seeing students, parent volunteers, staff, and alumnae connect across roles and generations. There were so many opportunities to express gratitude for everyone who strengthens our community. We are already looking forward to next year's Crofton House Community Weekend!

It's Bike to School week here at CHS, and as a special lunchtime treat, Junior School Students took over the roundabout in a celebration of pedal and push-powered transport.

Bike racks across the whole campus are full to the brim, and it has been such a great sight to see so many students, families and staff getting involved in the initiative.

This week, the Senior School Improv Club hosted their final show of the year, and as usual, it was a rollercoaster of absurdity, physical comedy and quick wits. Featuring hot dog eating contests, subtitles (somehow?!), jail-bound mice, a suspicious museum and a train that won't arrive for three days, 17 hours, and 10 minutes.

It was also a touching opportunity to say farewell to our graduating seniors, who have poured so much energy into the club over the years.

*Should have said*

It was a chance to say goodbye to the oldest students, who like the club a lot, but won't be at school next year.

*Should have said*

Peace out, Grade 12s......aaaaaaaaaaannd SCENE!

This year, Grade 4 and 5 students have been hard at work in their knitting club. Working with the support of volunteers from the Alumnae Association, Senior School Pupils and Junior School Staff, these dedicated crafters went from novice knitters to proficient purlers in just a few months.

After learning the basics, the students were challenged to create as many knitted squares as possible, which were then transformed into beautiful baby blankets. The final products, 16 in all, will be shared with maternity wards across the Lower Mainland in partnership with Project Linus.

Thank you to everyone for all your hard work and to our volunteers for your patience and mentorship. 🧶

Students on the Challenge 11 Outdoor Education program capped off their year with two amazing expeditions in April and May: Mountain biking in Squamish and a multi-day trip around the Powell River lake circuit.

From paddling to portaging, getting to grips with tyres and terrain, through sun and rain, the students embraced challenge with a positive attitude and buckets of camaraderie.

Thank you as well to the wonderful staff team who supported the students on these journeys 🚴‍♀️ 🛶 🏕️ 🌅

Senior School students have been busy with STEM both inside and outside of the classroom this year. This included medalists in the Greater Vancouver Science Fair (congratulations, Veronica, Yoyo and Karen).

Yoyo and Veronica were subsequently invited to present at the Canada Wise Science Fair in Alberta, each walking away with bronze for the respective projects (Energy-Efficient Design of an Ostrich-Inspired Bipedal Running Robot for Inspection Tasks and CryoPhase: Electrical Interfacial Control for Sustained Ionic Transport in Subzero Energy Systems)

In the final Junior School Spring Concert of 2026, students in Grades 1-3 brought the house down with their performance of "Lemonade!". Featuring a cast of fairytale characters, all beset by woes, the villagers work together and realise that with dedication, community and a sprinkling of a certain refreshing drink, they can overcome anything. 🍋

❤️ 💛 💚 🩵 💙 💜 School spirit was at an all-time high in the Senior School last week! 💜 💙 🩵 💚 💛 ❤️

Kent Field was alive with shouts, screams and chants as students cheered, competed and laughed their way through competitions for house and spirit points. The teachers were also on fine form, antagonising their opponents, bending rules, and generally causing mischief at every opportunity.

And to top it all off...SLIP & SLIDE!!!

A big thank you to the FPP crew who made the event such a success!

Which house came out on top? You'll need to stay tuned for a future assembly to find out!

Last week, Grade 6 and 7 students entertained audiences with a celebration of music and song. In an evening of two halves, parents were treated to performances from the Grade 6 and Grade 7 concert bands in the warm glow of Manrell Hall. Later, with the audience and performers now in the Theatre of the Beedie Fine Arts Centre, the choirs finished off the evening's entertainment with a beautiful arrangement of songs.
