Our post was updated on October 9 to note that UBC reshared the October 7 photo collage in error.

REVISED POST:

On October 7th, the third anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack and massacre in Israel, UBC’s official Instagram account reshared a collage of campus photos. One of the photos showed an event held by Palestine Solidarity Action UBC outside The Nest. The event included a large sign honouring “Palestinian martyrs.”

Hillel BC contacted UBC immediately and was informed that it was reshared in error and was immediately removed. UBC has also informed us that they are reviewing their social media processes.

Thank you đź’™

Last week, our community showed up in such a meaningful way.

Because of you, we were able to double the impact of every gift and invest even more into the students who rely on Hillel BC as their home away from home.

From Shabbat dinners and holiday celebrations, to wellness support, learning opportunities, and everyday moments of connection, you made it all possible.

We’re so grateful to everyone who gave, shared, and helped spread the word.

This work continues because of you. Thank you for being part of it.

Last chance đź’™

We’re heading into the final hours of our Double Your Impact campaign.

Right now, every donation is still being matched. This is your moment to show up for Jewish students across BC and help keep Hillel a place they can rely on for community, support, and connection.

Before we head into Shabbat and close out the campaign, we’re asking you to be part of it.

If you’ve been meaning to give, now is the time.

Shabbat Shalom from Hillel BC đź’™

All year long, across campuses, Shabbat has brought students together. Different tables, different faces, but the same feeling of warmth, connection, and belonging.

For some, it’s a weekly tradition. For others, it’s their first time sitting down to a Shabbat dinner. Either way, it becomes something they carry with them.

This is what a Jewish home away from home looks like.

As we head into the final stretch of our Double Your Impact campaign, every donation is still being matched, helping us keep these tables full and these moments possible.

Wishing you a restful and meaningful Shabbat ✨
