Two weeks of Israel and culture at Hillel BC 💙

From Israeli cooking classes to a campus shuk with a local food truck, from folk dancing to a full Israeli-style Shabbat dinner, these moments brought students together in such a real and joyful way.

It’s about celebrating culture, asking questions, trying something new, and finding connection through shared experiences.

For many students, this is where Israel becomes something they can engage with in their own way, alongside friends and community.

There’s something special about sitting around the table together at the end of the week. Taking a pause, sharing a meal, and being surrounded by people who feel like home.

As Jacob shared from UVic Hillel: “The many things I’ve experienced at Hillel are all positive, from Shabbat dinners to being together, embracing everlasting joy with my close friends and even making new friends along the way. It is truly a safe space for all Jews and allies and it’s truly a Jewish home away from home”
