Break Free from Emotional & Binge Eating: It Is Possible 💛 Have you ever felt like you know what to do… but still find yourself emotionally eating, binge eating, or feeling out of control around food?
So many approaches focus mostly on behaviours, willpower, mindset, or food rules. And while some of these approaches are not necessarily wrong, they are often incomplete... which is why results can feel temporary, inconsistent, or exhausting to maintain.
Because emotional eating is rarely just about food.
There is often a deeper missing piece: the nervous system, stress physiology, emotional overwhelm, self-sabotage patterns, and the body’s need for safety, soothing, and relief.
In this free workshop, we’ll explore:
✨ Why emotional eating feels so hard to stop
✨ The missing piece many approaches leave out
✨ The role of the nervous system and self-sabotage
✨ A more compassionate, body-based path toward lasting change
You are warmly invited to join me on Zoom, Saturday May 30 at 10 am Pacific Time / 1 pm Eastern Time / 19:00 Amsterdam time link is in the comments.

Hi everyone!
It’s been a while since I’ve shared consistently here… life, work, and growth have taken me on a deep and beautiful path!
Some of you may remember me from my years working in dementia care and counselling.
That work is still very close to my heart!
Alongside dementia care, I’ve always supported people who struggle with emotional and binge eating, trauma, and feeling disconnected from their bodies, and in recent years, this part of my work has expanded.
These days, in addition to supporting people with dementia, carepartners and careproviders, I help people reconnect with their nervous systems, understand the protective patterns underneath their relationship with food, and rebuild trust with their bodies from the inside out.
What I’ve discovered is that whether we’re navigating dementia, caregiver stress, emotional eating, or trauma, the core of the work is always the same:
regulation, safety, and compassion and connecting with the body’s wisdom.
I’m excited to be here again more and to share more about this intersection, the nervous system, trauma-informed care, and the everyday ways we can come back into balance. ❤
PS: here is Spero who keeps me busy with Luna when I'm not at work

Dear you... Feeling low or unproductive? It’s totally okay. Your brain and body are processing so much right now... Perhaps you're body is taking care of you by not letting you do all the things. It’s a necessary part of recovering and regaining your life force. Embrace those moments of stillness... It may be a sign, you need to recharge as you navigate through life’s ups and downs...

*For those who have a family member with dementia*
If you are struggling right now, if things feel messy and overwhelming, please know it's not your fault!
It may be hard to imagine that there is anything out there that could help improve the behaviours and moods. You may have tried al kinds of things already.
Doctors may have told you that there is nothing else you can do other than try to be calm and perhaps some medications.
While it’s true that at this point there is nothing to stop the progression of Alzheimer's disease, there may still be ways to improve your situation, the behaviours, moods, and experience of your person with dementia, which ultimately leads to more
moments of calmness and even better functionality in daily life.
I have worked in complex dementia care in the Netherlands. 'Extreme' behaviours were a daily challenge for care staff and family members.
Fortunately, we received funding to create a great care program and things shifted dramatically.
What I learned then, made so much sense.
It was all about creating the right environment.
Environment includes anything that happens in the moment for the person with dementia, including the physical environment, sensory stimuli, and the approach.
You see, the thing is that most of the time, difficult behaviours (my friend Geert Bettinger has a much better name for this: "signalling behaviours") are NOT just symptoms of dementia. They are reactions to the environment.
How the environment or situation is perceived by the person, determines how the person reacts to the environment in that moment.

I am so excited: tomorrow is DAY 1 of the free training! I will be sharing some of the biggest mistakes care-partners make and what to do instead!
This is nobody's fault, it is the result of so many misconceptions and myths still ramping around and being taught by professionals and actually cause more stress and harm for both people with dementia and the care partners. So let's straighten that up and join the training! You are not too late, you will be able to watch the replay and ask all your questions! register here: www.nadinejans.com/retreat
