We are closed today for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Government of Canada has extensive online resources for you to learn more. And if you wish to donate, Canada Helps has an extensive list of Indigenous charities.

Many of you work in animal shelters and some in veterinary clinics. This may be information that you find useful for emergency preparedness.

It was a sunny but chilly Fall day for Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid at BC SPCA Sea to Sky in Squamish yesterday.

This group (+1 not pictured) traveled from Pemberton, Whistler and all parts of Squamish to spend the day learning how to keep their pets safe, and how to care for them in an emergency.

We had a number of pet owners attend, along with volunteers from BC SPCA (BCSPCA), Snow Dogs Rescue Society, and PAWS Pemberton Animal Well being Society, as well as staff from Good Shake Pet Services. They brought great energy to the room and were able to share some of their real life experiences too.

We send special thanks to BC SPCA Sea to Sky for their ongoing kindness and true dedication to inviting their community for further education. They are truly dedicated to making a difference to animals! Thank you.

We hope to be back in Squamish in the New Year. Pop an email to [email protected] if you want to be added to our interest list.

The venue is so lovely at Easy Breezy Dog Training, and as you can see both the students and adorable demo pup had a great time.

Scarlett has more Walks ‘N’ Wags dates planned for Navan, with the next one being a 2-day split on October 31 and November 1.
