Bold Career Project
Intentional Career Growth. Strategic Career Moves. For mid-career professionals, managers and execs. Imagine the possibilities!
The majority of people haven't fully linked who they are with how they earn a living. That's sad and it is my mission to narrow that gap, even just a little.

The biggest mistake I made building my career:
Not consistently making first things first - exercise, sleep, vacations, time away from work, social interactions, hobbies.
Maybe you can relate…
📌 When what you do for a living is part of your identity.
📌 When you have a mission or high interest in the subject matter.
📌 When saying yes is easier than saying no and you like to please people.
📌 When you’re open to new things, curious, full of ideas, and starting projects is a strength.
Lessons have been hard-won. And ironically, all that extra time didn’t always equal greater output.
Now I’m working on:
☑ A shorter daily to-do list (so difficult!)
☑ Daily hard stops (work shut down at 5 pm)
☑ Finding ways to move from Complex ==> Simple and Ad-hoc ==> Systems
☑ More outcome-focused work (tied to carefully selected objectives)
☑ Scheduling daily / weekly personal time and activities to strengthen and enrich my life
☑ And perhaps most difficult of all for me - remembering that ...
I can do anything; I can’t do everything 🤔
Putting those things first actually makes me better at what I do.
What’s been your experience - either wins or lessons learnt - in managing the work / non-work sides of your life?

In job search or career change mode? Define what you are moving TOWARD. Not what you’re trying to get away from.
❌ Away from is not a benefit for the hiring company.
❌ Away from keeps you focused on something negative.
❌ Away from doesn’t help you define what you’re seeking.
✔ Towards is more exciting and positive.
✔Towards requires you to define what you want and need.
✔Towards makes you define your benefit to the organization you’re targeting.
Power your career move with a future .

Ensure your boss isn't the only one who knows how great you are. That’s a dangerous assumption that limits your options.
How do you do that? Here are the 6 steps in brief.
✅ 1/ It starts with getting comfortable with and following through on authentic personal marketing.
✅ 2/ It also requires prioritizing the actions and habits needed to go from invisible to a known, liked, and trusted actor in your market.
✅ 3/ Then, you figure out your unique professional value, the markets you serve, the problems you solve and your positioning. (Hint: This step is also for your confidence and clarity.)
✅ 4/ From there, you build your marketing assets - LinkedIn profile, resume, bio etc. to showcase who you are and what you’re up to.
✅ 5/ Depending on your situation and the size of your current organization, you may have potential opportunities internally. You can work to build profile, develop new influencer relationships, earn champions, and broaden your impact.
✅ 6/ At the same time, I recommend you access the external market so that you’re not dependent on what happens inside your organization. Develop your channels to opportunities, build and nurture relationships, and find ways to contribute in your target market.
If you can action this, you put yourself in a position where you have optionality. The choice to stay or move to a different organization. And importantly. the ability to shape your career in directions that serve you.
Every day, we are taking our great clients through these steps. DM me to learn more.
