BOWLING NIGHT at VETC
A night full of laughter, strikes, and shared memories with our amazing members, friends and family. Beyond our weekly formal meetings, moments like these bring us together in the most natural and joyful way.
Because at VETC, connection doesn’t only happen at the podium — it happens in every cheer, every friendly competition, and every moment we create together.

The theme for the evening is based on our Toastmaster favourite quote by Naval Ravikant:
“Desire is a contract you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want. I don’t think most of us realize that’s what it is. I think we go about desiring things all day long and then wonder why we’re unhappy. I like to stay aware of it, because then I can choose my desires very carefully. I try not to have more than one big desire in my life at any given time, and I also recognize it as the axis of my suffering. I realize the area where I’ve chosen to be unhappy.”
What is the axis of your suffering? Do you have more than one? Were you intentional in choosing them?
Come to this week’s meeting so we can go deeper into these topics.

When Michelangelo created David,
he didn’t add marble. He removed everything that wasn’t David.
Winning works the same way. Not more goals. Not more pressure.
Cut what doesn’t belong.
The wrong habits.
The wrong rooms.
The wrong distractions.

This session will focus on the key elements that transform a group of individuals into a truly winning team. Expect strong insights, engaging speeches — including one Tall Tale speech, a fun Table Topics competition, and plenty of opportunities to sharpen your communication skills.
Also, we have 3 new members taking on roles for the first time, so let’s show up, cheer them on, and fully support them!

Ven and Ken are VETC’s winners in the International Speech Contest, and they’ll now represent our club at the Area Contest
Congratulations on this next step forward!
Setbacks are part of entrepreneurship and leadership — but they don’t have to define the outcome.
This week’s theme, “How to Move Forward After a Setback,” will explore how to respond when things don’t go as planned, and how to turn challenges into learning opportunities.
Expect insights on reframing failure, rebuilding confidence, and moving forward with more clarity and resilience — because setbacks don’t stop progress; how we respond to them shapes our next level of growth.

To all VETC members and welcome guests
Next week we’re hosting our Tall Tales Contest, and we’d love to invite every one of you to join and cheer on our speakers.
A Tall Tale is a short speech built around a wildly exaggerated, imaginative story—the kind that makes you laugh, and leaves you thinking, “No way… and also, maybe?”
It’s one of the most entertaining Toastmasters formats because it combines storytelling, humor, creativity, and strong delivery.
Come enjoy the creativity, celebrate the courage it takes to compete.

Hi, I landed here with an aspiration to become a wellness retreat organizer for female CEOs and to hold circles internationally.
One of the many qualities a good retreat organizer should have is a strong voice presence and the ability to guide audiences.

Why “Becoming Your Best Version” Is the Lie Keeping You Stuck.
We’re often taught that grinding harder and constantly fixing ourselves leads to success — but what if that mindset is the real limitation?
This meeting invites entrepreneurs and leaders to question the “best version” narrative and explore how dropping performance and leading from authenticity creates real power, trust, and freedom.
