The Graduate Student Association’s Townhall is a platform for all members of our NYIT community to engage in constructive dialogue. During this event, we will address queries raised by students regarding the university
environment, academics, and personal concerns. We encourage you to bring forward any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have regarding graduate student experiences, campus life, or any other matters related to our university.


Your participation is essential in making this event a success.

We are coming closer to the "longest and darkest night of the year." On this day, we want to invite you to Celebrate the Festival of Yalda! Yaldā Night or Chelle Night is an Iranian winter solstice festival. It is celebrated for the triumph of light over darkness!

Although, officially Yalda is on 21st Dec, but due to campus closure we look forward to celebrating it together early.

Join us on 5th December, Monday, at the Downtown Campus to enjoy Iranian Snacks and Food!

Canyon Lights, Capilano Suspension Bridge

From November to January, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is utterly transformed into a magical world of festive splendor for Canyon Lights. Cross the world-famous bridge, lit end-to-end with a changing multi-colour display, and gaze at the illuminated Capilano River below. Journey into a glowing rainforest and walk high above the forest floor on Treetops Adventure’s seven suspended bridges, twinkling from treetop to forest floor. Wind your way through the mesmerizing “Arc de Lumina” light tunnel, which wraps along a portion of Cliff walk.

Many students at New York Tech Vancouver have been affected by the ongoing conflicts in Iran.

The GSA team is hosting an event to provide students with a safe space where a professional Farsi speaking counsellor will be hosting a *Support Group Session*. We invite everyone to join the event and participate to show support for the Iranian community and to the people who are suffering in the country.

This event is open to all students who wish to join show solidarity for your Iranian Classmates.

GSA is hosting a Halloween Get-Together to celebrate the upcoming spooky Halloween. We can’t wait to see everyone get dressed up in their spooky costumes and rock the event! It was believed that on Halloween, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits. Let’s rejoice in this old tradition and have an amazing evening.
