Native Education College’s Information Technology Support Technician (ITST) program prepares learners for careers in technology through a blend of practical technical training, mentorship, career-ready skill development, and community-centred learning.

The program goes beyond technical education. Learners build knowledge in hardware and software fundamentals while learning in an environment that values relationship, identity, culture, and community. This approach encourages learners to grow both personally and professionally as they prepare to enter and contribute to the technology field.

We also raise our hands in gratitude to Dr. Shane Pointe, for his teachings, wisdom and care, and for walking alongside our learners throughout their journey at NEC.

To our Board & President, thank you for your leadership, vision, and commitment to ensuring Indigenous education continues to thrive for generations to come.

The Dr. Shane Pointe Indigenous Learner Entrance Scholarship - $10,000*

In recognition of Dr. Pointe's lifetime service to Indigenous Peoples and the kindness, care and brilliance that he brought to the college, we proudly introduce the "Intergenerational Brilliance Award."

The entrance scholarship will be presented to a learner that intentionally prioritizes culture, family and community with their academic growth. Dr.Pointe taught us that we come from Intergenerational strength, brilliance and when we purposefully walk with care, focus and intention our success will be profound. We are equally reminded to be humble, and showcase gratitude each day for living things within our ecosystem.

A house filled with laughter!

Our Comedy Night successfully brought together learners, staff, alumni, and community members for an evening filled with laughter, connection, and unforgettable moments. The energy was incredible, and our talented comedians kept everyone smiling from start to finish.

In honour of Dr. Shane Pointe, we are sharing his teachings to carry forward his words, quotes, and one-word tools as an active continuation of what he taught us. Each teaching invites us to pause, remember, and consider how we can live these words through our work, relationships, and responsibilities to students, staff, Elders, and community.
