Exam Format and Structure of TEF:
The TEF Exam is designed to evaluate the French language skills of non-native speakers across four major components: listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
The candidate has to answer questions from all parts of the test which range from Level A1 to C2. Therefore, he is assessed on the basis of mixed questions ranging from beginner to advanced level of difficulty.
TEF Exam Format:
1) Speaking: 2 topics in 15 minutes (5mins+10mins) with the examiner
2) Listening: 60 questions in 40 minutes (On Computer)
3) Writing: 2 topics in 60 minutes (On Computer) Accents keyboard will be provided on screen
4) Reading: 50 questions in 60 minutes (On Computer)
Listening (Compréhension Orale): 360 Points
This section evaluates the candidate's ability to understand spoken French in different scenarios. Candidates listen to recordings and answer questions based on the information presented.
Reading (Compréhension Écrite): 300 Points
This segment assesses the candidate's comprehension of written French. It includes reading passages followed by questions that test the ability to grasp information, draw inferences, and analyze content.
Speaking (Expression Orale): 450 Points
The speaking component gauges the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in French. This is often conducted as a face-to-face interview with an examiner, covering a range of topics to assess the candidate's fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
Writing (Expression Écrite): 450 Points
Candidates are required to express themselves in writing, showcasing their ability to structure sentences, convey ideas coherently, and use appropriate language.
Students must submit all modules on the same day to ensure that their certificate is recognized and accepted by the Canadian government. Your results will be sent to you within about 2 to 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the session materials. Each statement is detailed and personalized (with your photograph and signature).The results are valid for two years. You can retake the test as many times as you wish allowing for a one-month waiting period between each examination.
