To our dearest members and pool community, it is with deep regret that we are announcing the closure of the University Billiards Club of UBC (U8C) at the end of this school year. Due to obstacles regarding future leadership of the club, we are unable to renew our club status the coming year.
We want to thank the hundreds upon hundreds of supporters that we have had in our years of operation. From club members to Facebook fans to supporting local businesses, you have our warmest thanks as all of you have been directly responsible for the success of this club.
Founded in 2011, U8C started off as a small club with the humble purpose of sharing the great game of pool with university students. In the last 6 years, we have expanded our member base many fold, introduced hundreds of young players to the intricacies of the game, and gathered players from all over the province in our annual inter-collegiate tournaments. We hope that our club has brought many of you fun memories, lifelong friendships, and a deeper interest in pool. For our executive team, this club has brought us so much more than a chance to play pool. We are truly honoured to have been able to share our events and tournaments with you all. To have so many of you express joy and gratitude for our events makes all of our efforts worthwhile. We have formed strong bonds with many of you even outside of the club, and the club's existence has become one of the defining aspects of our university experience. We are proud of the club's accomplishments and firmly believe that we have contributed to a pool community that will never wither.
Remember to keep shooting. We'll see you all around. Thank you everyone.

A big thank you to everyone who made this year's annual intercollegiate tournament such a success! We would not have been able to achieve this without the help of all the skilled players, our exec team, the staff at Q1 Billiards, and our supportive members.
This year's champion is Bill Yang, runner-up is Justin Li, and third place is Akshay Bhasin. The three of them fought through a tough field of 32 players to come out on top. Congratulations to you all on a wonderful performance!
Thanks to the generosity of Q1 Billiards, we were able to give away three cues and three sets of billiard balls to our participants. They provided us with amazing Diamond billiard tables to play on and we encourage everyone to give their venue a visit! It is always a pleasure to host this tournament and witness the passion that students have for this game. We hope that this tournament motivates all of you to continue playing and spread this wonderful game.

A great big thank you to everyone involved in this year's U8C Annual Intercollegiate Tournament! The tournament was a great success and we were able to unite students from UBC, UVic, SFU, Capilano University, and Langara in this wonderful game. This could not have been possible without all the skilled players, our exec team, and the amazing staff at Q1 Billiards. It is thanks to the owners of Q1 in particular that we were able to play on professional Diamond Pool Tables.
Congratulations to our new champion David Luo, runner-up Kevin Wakelin, and third place Charles Zhang!
Special thanks once again to University of Victoria Billiards Club for coming all the way from Victoria to compete!
