UBC Geering Up

🧡 Every Child Matters.

On September 30th, Geering Up joined the UBC community in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Following the ceremony, we invited community members to help transform the Engineering Cairn by adding their handprints.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to participate, reflect, and contribute to this shared display. This day stands as a reminder of the children, families, and communities impacted by the residential school system, and the continued importance of learning and working toward reconciliation.

We're honoured to have a community of people who believe in the work we do to lower barriers to STEM education and upskill our future workforce.

The Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program supports a core Geering Up pillar of empowering highly skilled, well-rounded, and experienced young people so they can confidently step into the world. Thank you to MP Wade Grant for stopping by to chat with our CSJ recipients and team to see the on-the-ground impact that this funding generates.
