Happy Monday Learners!

Summarizing is a KEY 🔑 tool when it comes to studying multiple pages effectively. Realistically, not every single tiny piece of info is needed to be memoized and will just take up precious brain space. By honing in on main ideas you can save time and energy!

Mila has been working with JL for about 6 months now and currently manages our Vancouver branch! This is what she has to say about working at JL:

" Working at JL has been so much fun! I enjoy how our students don't just come here to study but also come to see their friends! It's really nice how close everyone is!"

Thanks Mila for all your hard work!

Math can often feel like a daunting and overwhelming subject. But it's important to remember that we don't actually hate math itself, we hate the negative emotions and experiences we associate with it.

At Joy of Learning it's our job as educators and mentors to change that narrative and create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. By breaking down complex concepts, providing hands-on and engaging activities, and fostering a sense of support and encouragement, we help students overcome their fears and develop a love for math.

Math is tough, but only as tough as we let it be :)

Quick tip Wednesday: "Who" and "Whom" are the confusing close cousins of the pronoun world! But no fear, Quick Tip Wednesday is here 😉

Happy Monday besties! Here's to a new week full of possibilities and excitement :)

Remember to:

1. Failing to plan is planning to fail: make a list of goals and "To do" you want to get done this week! Whether that's completing that assignment or cleaning your room, don't let your tasks just bounce around in your head -> Write them down!!!!

2: Schedule, schedule schedule: take that list and time block it in your calendar! For example, give yourself from 1-3 on Tuesday to finish your readings and then 3-4 to study for your science test!

3: Drink water: Besties, last time I checked scholars kept hydrated 💁‍♀

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our students excel! 📚📈 Here's what one of our learners had to say about their experience with us:

"Studying in JL is one of the best decisions my parent and I have ever made. The Teachers here are patient, professional and encouraging. Since studying here here I have made a big progress in my English skills!"

Way to go Esther!

Quick Tip Wednesday: The semicolon might SEEM like one of the scariest forms of punctuation out there but it's goal is just to bring two related ideas together! Think of it like the peanut butter between pieces of bread, not scary at all (unless you have a nut allergy) :P
