Taking effective notes isn't about writing everything down. In CELPIP Listening, it helps to identify the main topic early and focus on the details that are most likely to matter later. This keeps your notes organized and makes it easier to find information when answering questions.

Since the questions usually follow the order of the audio, many students find it helpful to take notes sequentially. Instead of trying to capture every word, focus on the key points, important events, and details you may need to remember.

Many English learners confuse floor and ground, but using the wrong one can sound unnatural in speaking and writing.

✔ floor → usually indoors
✔ ground → usually outdoors

Now go to the last slide and write 2–3 sentences describing the picture using BOTH:
✔ floor
✔ ground 👇

Many students think they need a complicated answer to score well on opinion questions. In reality, the most important thing is having a clear position from the beginning. Examiners should never be guessing whether you agree or disagree.

Once your opinion is clear, you can add nuance, acknowledge the other side, and explain your reasoning. A balanced response is great, as long as your main position stays consistent throughout your answer.

Congratulations Kulshani 🥳🥳🥹

This beautiful student had complete faith in my strategies and that’s what made all of the difference!

CELPIP is VERY different from other language tests. That means that students often have to unlearn some of their previous strategies. And to be honest, unlearning something is a lot harder than starting with a blank slate.

That said, Kulshani pulled it off amazingly!

Best of luck on your immigration process 🧡

Most English learners focus on individual sounds…

But word stress changes meaning too 👀

Compare these:
🌱 GREENhouse = a building for plants
🏠 green HOUSE = a house that is green

A tiny stress change can completely change the meaning.

This is why fluent speakers sound more natural when they speak English.

In CELPIP Writing, idea quality matters more than the idea itself.

Weak ideas = no development
No development = lower score

Strong ideas give you more to explain, support, and expand. That’s how you improve your writing score.

In CELPIP Speaking Part 1, giving advice is one of the most common tasks, so using the word advice correctly is important. Since advice is an uncountable noun, saying advices is a common grammar mistake that can affect accuracy.

Instead, natural phrases like a piece of advice, some advice, tips, or pointers sound much more fluent and accurate in speaking responses.
