Girls INNOVATE (Grades 4–6)
This STEAM-based program focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Participants will take part in hands-on projects, design challenges, and creative problem-solving activities that encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence-building.
Program details:
• Tuesdays: Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24, Mar. 3, 10, 17, 24, 2026 (8 sessions)
• Time: 4:00–5:30 PM
• Location: South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (6470 Victoria Drive)

Girls to the Power of Math: STEMinist Math Program (Grade 3)
This is a supportive math program focused on building confidence and positive math identities. Students will engage in math learning through games, art, music, and movement, while practicing skills such as skip counting and multiplication. The program is supported by high school student mentors.

You helped bring so many fun activities to the children and families of our community, including bookmark stamping, painting 🎨, spin the wheel, Twister, Lego, balloon animals 🎈, bubbles 🫧, beading, and MORE!! Your energy, care, and positivity are SO appreciated. ☺️☺️☺️

Today was the first day of our SVNH Girls & Non-Binary Youth Volleyball Program! 🏐☀️

We had an amazing time playing grass volleyball in the sun (and shade!), then got creative and made our very own team t-shirts! 👕✨

If you’re a youth aged 13–18 who identifies as a girl or non-binary, come join us this summer for fun, friendship, and volleyball! All skill levels are welcome!! All we ask is that you bring your energy and good vibes! 💛

A HUUUUGE thanks to our amazing Friday Night Youth & Youth Volunteers!

The past few weeks have been full of excitement at the neighbourhood house - from our Literacy Fest to celebrating the baby shower of an SVNH staff member.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support, time, and energy from our SVNH youth volunteers. Thank you for showing up ⭐️, stepping up🪜, and making a difference. 💙💙💙

YOUTH VOLUNTEER TRAININGS HAPPENING THIS WEEK!!

If you’re interested in volunteering with SVNH this summer, make sure to come to our training week! All trainings count for volunteer hours and will help share with you the basics of SVNH and volunteering with us.

Training Week Schedule (Summer 2025):
* Monday, June 30, 2025 - SVNH Volunteer Orientation & Basic Food Kitchen Safety & Better Impact
* Wednesday, July 02, 2025 - Leadership Style Discovery and Personal Responsibility
* Thursday, July 03, 2025 - Special Event Planning & Conflict Resolution (two modules)
* Friday, July 04, 2025 - Working With Children
All trainings will take place at SVNH (6470 Victoria Drive) from 3:30PM - 6:00PM in Room 304 unless otherwise specified.

For RETURNING VOLUNTEERS who missed a few training sessions, please try to attend the modules that you have missed. These trainings are mandatory if you would like to receive any proof of your hours documents.
