Divided: Education Inequality in Indonesia.

On average, only 48.4% of Indonesian students with low income levels completed secondary school in 2021. In comparison, almost double the percentage of students with high income levels completed secondary school in 2021.

Even within certain geographic regions of Indonesia, educational disparity is evident. Papua has over two times the education inequality than Jakarta. This can be attributed to poverty, disengagement, lack of resources, and underfunded schooling, among many other reasons.

As education has proven to play significant role in quality of life, career stability, and mental well-being of young adults, these statistics need to change. Join EduBeyond as we bridge the gap in learning and help students go beyond. 🚀

EduBeyond is committed to making a difference, not just online, but offline too! COO Miklos Sunario visited the Jakarta branch of Tangan Pengharapan, an orphanage in Indonesia, to build personal connections with youth and further understand their educational needs.

Miklos enjoyed chatting with students, playing games, and exploring the space. He was welcomed by staff and students with open arms, an experience he says changed his life and inspired him greatly.

“I once taught Dino and Chelsy how to pronounce the English Alphabet. Today, we are able to discuss more complex topics like climate change. To us, Dino, Chelsy and all our students thus far are a mere sample size of the impact we can make. They are our impetus to aim for the Moon and why we are now making something truly groundbreaking.”

At EduBeyond, we believe that all students, no matter their background, deserve equal access to quality education. We focus on uplifting students who my not have anyone in their corner, setting them up for a lifetime of success. Through technology, we help students go beyond. 🚀

Divided: Education Inequality Around the World.

Join us on this series where we will be highlighting the educational inequality in different places of the world.

Educational inequality is a longstanding and significant issue. In 2018, ⅙ of all school-aged children around the world were unschooled, with the majority from underdeveloped and underprivileged areas in Africa and Asia. This is occurring due to a disparity in the distribution of academic resources and opportunities.

Let’s change that. 🚀

With finals season approaching, here are some tips to ace your exams:

1. Note down all of the content that needs to be reviewed for each course. Then, make a study schedule to have an idea of how much time should be spent for each course. This can help with time management and ensure that time is being spread evenly between courses.

2. Create study groups with friends or classmates. Having others in the same mindset around you can keep you motivated and stay on task.

3. Attend review sessions and office hours to ask questions. Often, professors and TAs go over important and relevant information during these sessions. This can also help you stand out amongst other students and could lead to valuable mentorship.

4. Take short breaks (5-10 minutes) to recharge and improve energy and concentration when you return to studying. The Pomodoro Method is an example of this.

Good luck. We want to see you go beyond. 🚀
