🎉 A major milestone for JWest.

On July 16, Vancouver City Council approved JWest’s rezoning application—a significant step toward bringing Vancouver’s new Jewish community campus to life.

This milestone is the result of years of planning, collaboration, and community support. It also comes just weeks after the transfer of the 3.3-acre site to the JWest Foundation.

With Council’s approval, we remain on track to begin construction of the new Jewish Community Centre by the end of this year.

Thank you to Mayor Ken Sim, Members of Council, City staff, our donors, partners, and everyone who has helped bring JWest to this point. This milestone belongs to our entire community.

With record-breaking enrollment and a championship-winning basketball team—King David High School continues to shape the next generation of Jewish leaders. Now, as part of the JWest redevelopment, the school is set to expand with new classrooms, a dedicated gym, STEM labs, and arts studios.

To keep supporting Jewish youth, King David High School needs a space that matches its students' ambitions. 💡
