Term 1 (Sep-Dec 2025): under the supervision of a Statistics professor, graduate Statistics students will provide free project-specific consultations, including a report of recommendations, as part of their STAT 551 practicum consulting course. Submissions are accepted now until Nov 2. To apply, send a 1-page project description (see sample) to [email protected].



Term 2 (Jan-Apr 2026): a chance to get free data analysis from students taking STAT 450/550/540. Apply by Dec 7 and if your project is selected, submit your data Jan 4 2026.

Science – Statistics and Data Science – Vancouver Summer Program Courses with UBC Science include in-class and lab portions taught by UBC faculty members, graduate students, and guest lecturers. Courses also include short field trips and other engaging learning opportunities. Students can expect team-based learning activities and assignments.

Free Statistical Consultation: 2023/24 | UBC Department of Statistics The Statistics Department offers several types of free statistical consultation, via STAT 551, SOS and STAT 450/550, as follows:

Under the supervision of Statistics professors, Statistics students will provide free project-specific data analysis, including a formal written report, as part of their STAT 450/550 practicum consulting courses and STAT 540 course that will run next term. The submission deadline of Dec 14 is only a few weeks away! To apply, send a 1-page project description (see sample) to [email protected].
