Potty or toilet? 🚽❓
There are situations where it makes sense to choose one over the other - let your learner’s comfort and preference be the main deciding factor! ✅

This is a vicious rumour I wish would simply DIE, tbh 😵💀😈

It’s really not necessary to wait for kids to be uncomfortable in a soiled diaper to get started (and have success!!) with toilet learning. There is no research to support this myth. 🦄

Sure, it’s nice if they have that added motivation to ditch the diaper, but in the research on toileting skill acquisition for kids with developmental disabilities is clear - they REALLY don’t need to be there before starting toilet learning in order to have success.

If you’re seeing some toileting success at home, it’s time to take the show on the road! My best tip is to create sameness between the environments as best you can. 🚗 🚽
