Can machines think and be creative?
We are back with another Dialogue with Masters Series!
For our next session, we have invited Simon Wiedemann, Ph.D. to discuss machine thought and creativity. He will also demonstrate the latest AI tech, ChatGPT, and stable.
Simon is a Ph.D. holder in Computer Science specializing in AI and currently serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Hypothetic Inc., a venture-backed startup located in Los Angeles and Vancouver. He previously worked as a Research Scientist and Project Manager at Fraunhofer HHI in Berlin, where he developed novel techniques for enhancing the efficiency of AI technologies. The standardization of AI algorithms has benefited substantially from his experience as a member of the international standard organization. Over his career, he holds six patents, has won academic awards in prestigious journals and conferences and published numerous papers.

Karolyn Bonneau, the head teacher of iGen ECE, will conduct the professional development workshop Building Stewardship Spirit!
Karolyn hails from Penticton, Okanagan Nation, and Cranbrook, Kootenay Nation. She finished the Aboriginal Early Childhood Program accredited by NVIT and earned a Bachelor of Early Childhood Care and Education from Capilano University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education at UBC. From being a research assistant intern, she now helps train and support teachers and works with curriculum developers.
As a First Nations pedagogist and consultant, Karolyn will assist classroom teachers in integrating first people's learning principles into their daily practice. The workshop will take place on February 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oakridge Montessori.
