“Safe?... Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe came to life on stage through a beautiful and realistic portrayal by elementary student actors, reflecting months of creative work behind the scenes. This production was a tangible expression of the story that confronts us with our need for a Saviour and the reminder that we are made for more than this life alone! It was also a testament to remarkable teamwork. Parents, cast and crew, staff, alumni, and high school students brought their unique giftings in service of this theatrical vision, and we celebrate each person who helped bring it to fruition!

Transformative Joy was the theme of this year’s High School Spring Concert, and what a beautiful evening it was! Featuring stellar individual and collaborative performances by our bands, choirs, and strings students, the audience was brought on a musical journey filled with delight and more than a few surprises!
Among the evening’s highlights was a choral-orchestral arrangement of Ponyo by Hamada Masashi featuring guest appearances from elementary students. Also making a surprise appearance: Darth Vader himself. Let’s just say the Force was not with him that night.
Of course, what the audience saw was only the tip of the iceberg. Behind every performance were hours of rehearsals, perseverance, and so much growth. We’re proud of our students and all they accomplished!
A special thank you to Mr. Tong for his vision and leadership, Mr. Woo for his invaluable support and performance with the strings quintet, and Mr. Choi for keeping the AV running smoothly. Concerts take a village - and sometimes a Sith Lord.

Today’s Grad-Kindie Walk was a picture of the past, present and future in a single, precious frame. Hand in hand, our oldest and youngest walked through the hallways to loud cheers and applause of a community to which they belong to and have made an impact on!
This is but the first of many celebrations for Class of 2026. 🎓Praise God for how He has uniquely grown each of them for His good purpose!

3 days remain, and we are less than $4,000 away from reaching our $150,000 Walkathon target in support of our new long-term tuition assistance fund! 🎯
Every gift enables us to extend an impactful welcome to families for whom tuition would otherwise be a barrier to receiving Christ-centred education at VCS.
It has been a joy watching our students embrace this opportunity to serve others and to see their generosity in action! Join us to cheer them on!!

What does the future look like?
For our Grade 6/7 students, it looked a lot like laughter, friendly competition, and a warm welcome from some incredible student leaders.
Today, our High School Recreation Leadership Council (RLC) initiated and led a high school-style House Team rally, giving our younger students a glimpse into what awaits them in the years ahead.
We are so proud of the leadership, creativity, and care shown by the RLC. Their enthusiasm was matched by the Grade 6/7 students, who jumped in wholeheartedly and made the rally a joy to watch.
Moments like these remind us that our students are not simply moving from one division to the next - they are continuing to grow within a community that is for them.

The forecast said rain, but our Astro Olympics elementary sports day still took off!
Indoor games. Space-level excitement. (Very) organized chaos. Golden shoes reclaimed. Everyone had a blast. 💥
Even Darth Vader came out to play (see photographic evidence).
Special thanks to the organizers, staff, Grade 7 superstar helpers, and the army of parent & alumni volunteers for making today an incredible one!

In April, a team of 23 VCS students and 4 staff had the privilege of stepping into an unfamiliar context and witnessing the unmistakable hand of God at work.
At the recent High School Chapel, students from the China International Learning Trip (ILT) shared powerful stories of learning from local communities, stepping beyond their comfort zones, and building meaningful connections.
ILTs provide students with opportunities to grow in their appreciation for different cultures, to serve and learn in new ways, and to develop as thoughtful leaders and global citizens in God’s world.
We are grateful for all that God continues to do in and through these students, and look forward to seeing how these experiences continue to shape their lives!

The Con Brio Whistler Music Festival continues to be a highlight in our year of music-making. 🎶
This past weekend, 124 of our high school students - representing the Senior Band, Jazz Band, Strings, and Choir - spent time immersing in their craft. Together they performed, learned, and grew, sharing both the challenge and the joy of making music in community.
We celebrate their achievement of a Silver standard, but even more so the steady discipline behind it - the hours of focused practice, the pursuit of excellence, and the many ways they are growing both musically and spiritually!
