The Social Services Worker Diploma (SSWD) program helps students gain the knowledge, skills, and qualifications needed for a career in human services. This two-year, full-time program blends hands-on practice, theory, and academic courses to prepare students to become thoughtful professionals focused on advocacy, social justice, and social change. There is also a part-time option available.
Career Prospects
The SSWD program prepares students for paraprofessional roles in many social service and health organizations. Graduates often work as financial assistance workers, bail supervisors, residential service workers, social work assistants, mental health assisted living workers, family support workers, supported employment staff, community living workers, in transition houses, women’s programs, as Aboriginal support workers, or family violence workers.
Admission Requirements
• Academic IELTS 6.0 or higher with no band less
than 5.5. Students with a writing band of 5.5 are required to complete English 099
with a "C" grade or higher in their initial semester.
• A Duolingo English Test result with an overall score of 110 or higher. Students with
a Production score below 115 and/or a literacy score below 125 are required to
