Toutes les embarcations doivent rester à au moins 1 000 mètres des épaulards résidents du Sud afin de réduire les perturbations dans les zones dont ils dépendent pour se nourrir et rester en groupe. 🌊

Le samedi 15 août 2026, les eaux du lac Saint-Louis accueilleront la 14e édition du FestiVoile AQVA, nouvelle identité de l’événement aussi connu sous le nom de la Régate pour l’AQVA. Cet événement caritatif unique, organisé au profit de l’Association québécoise de voile adaptée (AQVA), réunira des membres de six yacht-clubs de la région ainsi que des marins de l’AQVA vivant avec une incapacité physique et/ou sensorielle, autour d’une régate amicale ou d’un simple après-midi de plaisance sur l’eau.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the waters of Lake Saint-Louis will host the 14th edition of FestiVoile AQVA, the new name for the event formerly known as the Regatta for AQVA. This one-of-a-kind charity sailing event, held in support of the Québec Adapted Sailing Association (AQVA), will bring together members from six yacht clubs in the region, along with AQVA sailors living with physical and/or sensory disabilities, for a friendly regatta or simply an enjoyable afternoon on the water.

I think it’s time more Ontarians started talking about Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. 🤍 Just over 2 hours from Ottawa (and about 5 hours from Toronto), this waterfront destination completely exceeded my expectations. If your perfect summer getaway includes great food, time on the water and discovering somewhere new, this place deserves a spot on your list. If you’re planning a weekend getaway, here’s the itinerary I’d recommend: ☕ Start your morning with a coffee from @brulerie_emma or if you’re more of a matcha person like me, stop by @le_club_social_valleyfield for their delicious Quebec strawberry matcha. 🥪 Stop by @la.petitegrange to pick up sandwiches, homemade desserts, chocolates and local products for the perfect picnic. 🍩 Take that picnic aboard a Donut boat with Récréation Marine (yes, it’s a giant floating picnic table!) and spend the afternoon cruising through the canals. 🍹 End your day with live music and waterfront views at @barterrasselacale. 🏨 Then check into @hotelmocovalleyfield, a beautifully restored former cotton mill overlooking the bay. It’s the perfect home base for a weekend in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. 🥗 The next morning, grab one of the fresh homemade salads from @mange_tes_legumes_valleyfield before heading out for my favourite experience of the trip... ⛵ Finally, take to the water with @academie_voile_aventure. This sailing excursion gave me the chance to completely disconnect while exploring the St. Lawrence River, and I even got to learn a few of the basics along the way. Whether you simply want to relax and enjoy the fresh air or get hands-on and try a few sailing manoeuvres, it’s an experience that’s truly accessible to everyone. This trip reminded me that sometimes the best road trips are the ones just across the provincial border.
