🏃‍♀️Today, the Secondary students participated in the Jog-a-Walk. This initiative is back for its 36th year after a hiatus. This event aims to promote physical activity amongst the youth.

A student can either run a 6km route or walk a 3km route back to school.🎽

The runners with the Top 3 fastest time per cycle will be awarded. Due to the number of runners, Cycle 2 has two categories. 🏅

When the students arrived back to school, they are treated to hot chocolate and hotdogs prepared by Ms. Mary & select Secondary students.🌭☕️

Thanks to Mme Boutin & Ms. Stacey for organizing this event! ❤️

🧡 GVS commemorated the annual Truth and Reconciliation Day with a ceremony this morning. Both elementary and secondary students are in attendance. Select secondary students read messages and poems about the lived experiences of Indigenous People. This ceremony also unveiled the Dreamcatcher Project wherein students made bead pendants symbolizing their hopes and dreams. Staff members wrote their commitment on orange ribbons which served as the feathers of the dreamcatcher.

The dreamcatcher will be permanently displayed in the office lobby. 🧡
