Student Mental Health Tip of the Week:

When you wake up, step outside and notice the leaves moving in the breeze and the cool air on your skin. That simple act isn’t just refreshing; studies show that getting 5 to 10 minutes of morning sunlight helps reset your body’s internal clock. The light tells your brain to stop producing melatonin (the hormone that makes you sleepy) and boosts cortisol and serotonin, which improve your mood, focus, and energy.

People who start their day with natural light also tend to sleep better at night. Fresh air and gentle movement add to the effect, increasing oxygen and circulation so you feel more awake and grounded.

Remember that you are never alone. We’re here to help. 💙

🍎Throughout September, our students focused on the virtue of RESPECT as they learned new routines, built strong classroom communities, and demonstrated kindness and consideration toward one another. We are proud to recognize the students selected for consistently demonstrating respect this month. Congratulations Cougars!

Thank you to Mrs. Bradley’s grade 6 students for leading us in prayer and reflection and setting a wonderful example for our younger students. 💚💛

In October we will focus on the virtue of FAITH.

💙 Celebrating Our Custodial Team!

Today, on Custodial Appreciation Day, Sudbury Catholic Schools proudly recognizes our custodians, assistant custodians, cleaners, BSTs and maintenance staff for the care and dedication they bring to our schools and workplaces.

From classrooms and hallways to gyms and school grounds, their work helps keep our spaces safe, clean and welcoming. These skilled professionals take on physically demanding tasks every day, creating environments where students can learn and staff can work with confidence.

To every member of our custodial team: thank you for your hard work, attention to detail and the many ways you care for our school communities. You help us build a stronger Sudbury Catholic each day! 👏

🪶🧡Today, we honour the children who never made it home, the Survivors, and their families and communities.

We are listening.
We are learning.
We are called to act.

Today, our school community also came together to collect donations for the N’Swakamok Indigenous Friendship Centre, supporting the important work they do in our community.

May we carry the truth with us, not just today, but every day. 🧡 Sudbury Catholic Schools Indigenous Education SCDSB
