To wrap up our season, we have one more order of business to take care of - that's right - the "dreaded" AGM on October 8th, 2024 at Blind Bay Hall. Our club should not be made up of 6 people telling you how it is, and what we are going to do. We need you to show at the meeting and tell those "executive people" what you liked, what you didn't - that is part of being in the Society. Having new people on the executive bring new ideas and a fresh perspective - hence the Car Wash initiative this year. Your input is important. Yes, there will be elections - but we hope to have names to present to you prior to the meeting, so you do not get "roped in" to doing something you do not want to do. Of course if you are interested in being part of the exciting executive (we actually have a fun time together) we would like to hear from you right away. Call Dan at (780) 405-5316 to express your interest and ask him questions about what it is like to be on the executive.

Well we have reached the end of summer and so too the end of our 2024 season. First step was moving the Dragonfly 10-man boat out of the water on Thursday September 19th, followed by "Drinks on Dan" at Finz Resort. Good time had by all those that helped out. Next out will be the Dragon Spirit - both to be parked at Aqua Tech for the winter.

We had planned a Car Wash / Hot Dog Fundraiser for GT Dragon Boat for Saturday, August 24th. Unfortunately Mother Nature intervened with major rain storms and we had to postpone our event one more week to August 31st, 2024. Mother Nature was very kind to us on that day - warm (some may say hot) and sunny the whole day - and several of us got wet. A little birdie told us that it was Dan's birthday, so he definitely got soaked!!!! We had a successful day - 31 vehicles were cleaner that day, and we raised $650.00 in the four hours that we were there. Thanks go out to all the volunteers - from the street ladies (flagging in customers) to the scrubbers and washers, our chef, and our money manager - all of you played a part in making this a great event. Thanks also have to go out to SHUSWAP LAKE ESTATES, BLIND BAY VILLAGE GROCER, and BLIND BAY HALL for their sponsorship. We sold hotdogs at the same event, and we will be donating $250.00 to the Sorrento Food Bank. Thank you from Donna and Vicki - the committee organizers.

Come on out to Blind Bay Hall today between 10 and 2 - Get your car washed by donation, and while you are there, have a hot dog lunch. All proceeds for the car wash will go to GT Dragon Boat Society for our operations, and the proceeds from the Hot Dog Sales are for the Sorrento Food Bank.

Blind Bay’s GT Dragon Boat Society is hosting an Old-Fashioned Car Wash & Hot Dog Lunch Fundraiser on August 24th from 10am to 2pm at Blind Bay Hall.
Funds from the Car Wash will be used to support the GT Dragon Boat Society and its activities. The proceeds from the Hot Dog Sales will be donated to the Sorrento Food Bank.
Our Sponsors for this event are Shuswap Lake Estates and Village Grocer. Please come and get your car washed and have a hot dog lunch with us!!!!
