It’s system neglect to not provide adequate (not luxurious, just adequate) support for disabled folks.

We need to get vocal about this! Share, attend, write your MLA… every action will help amplify this issue.

Could you live on less than $1700 per month? No, the answer is no. No one can. And yet we continue to have policy makers, who come from very privileged backgrounds (most do) making decisions about something they have, and their loved ones, have not experienced.

PWD rates must go up now. Not next year or next election cycle. Now. The Premier says we are on an austerity budget. I say PWD recipients have been on poverty level budget, not just austerity, for decades.

C’mon BC… we can do better.

Can WE come together as ONE VOICE to Affect Positive Change (APC) to support over 150,000+ brothers & sisters in B.C....?

It's a simple request...🤔🙏❤️💙

We are excited to share about our Abbotsford Outdoor Adventure Groups! We have Teens and Juniors again! We cannot wait to explore some mud, trails, falling leaves, 🍂 and maybe have a campfire or two??

Do you know a child or youth, who would love to join an amazing group of humans for some nature-based adventures?

Our teens also love to have some board games and time to chill! (Is that what the teens are saying??) So we make sure we enjoy lots of time to connect and build relationships!

Registration is at [email protected]

Be sure to give us a follow on FB and Instagram to see all of our past adventures!

We are excited for a new season of Outdoor Adventure Groups! We are a fully inclusive and accessible nature-based intervention group.

We believe in inclusion and this is highlighted by our motto “No Adventurer left behind”! We are also passionate about risky play, developmentally driven supports and most importantly, relationships.

Does your child or teen struggle with friendships? Do they have a difficult time regulating their nervous system? Have they been excluded from other groups, perhaps because their needs are deemed “too much” or the supports are not appropriate?

Does your child or teen want to make friends? Do they want to learn new things? Do they do best when feeling safe and connected to their supports?

If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, then check us out! We may just be the group for your child, teen and family!

We have groups in Maple Ridge and Abbotsford! Feel free to DM any questions! And give us a follow on FB and Instagram to see our adventures and learn more about us!

Highly recommend! Alyson is amazing!

Getting ready to spend four days hiking in Garabaldi! While I won’t be “in office” you better believe I will be planning more Outdoor Adventure Groups!!! What better place to get inspired than on the trails?!

We launch OAG in September so be sure to follow us as we share information about our Fall groups!

*photo for attention as we don’t bribe children or youth …. But I have been known to be bribed with a good PBJ! 🥪

This was just shared with me! It’s the government’s link to estimate what you might receive for the Disability Supplement.

This funding is based on having the Disability Tax Credit and family income. Please remember this is not a guarantee but an estimate.

Use this tool to estimate how much your monthly and annual B.C. children and youth disability supplement payments for July 2027 to June 2028 will be based on your estimated 2026 adjusted family net income.

This looks very interesting!

There are no words… rest in peace Parker. And to your family, my deepest condolences. I hope you find peace in the coming months.

The Calgary Police Service has confirmed they have located the body of a small child they believe to be Parker.

This is not the outcome any of us were hoping for.

For nearly two weeks, an entire city carried hope. Thousands of people searched neighbourhoods, parks, waterways, vacant buildings, and their own properties. Families checked sheds and garages. Volunteers gave countless hours. First responders pushed themselves beyond exhaustion. So many of us refreshed our phones every day, hoping for the miracle update that never came.

Investigators say Parker entered a deep 4 foot concrete pipe in the culvert on the west side of Deerfoot Trail and travelled into a network of storm pipes running beneath the highway. He was found 450 to 500 feet into the network of pipes and ultimately found on the east side of Deerfoot. Due to the extremely dangerous conditions inside the tunnel system, Calgary Fire Department crews required specialized equipment to safely enter and recover him.

Police have shared that Parker was still wearing the clothing he was last seen in. At some point, his shoes were no longer on his feet, likely having been washed away within the water system. His shoes were found by a member of the public last night.

As both a therapist and someone who has followed this search closely, my heart is heavy tonight. I know many of you are feeling this loss deeply, even if you never met Parker. Watching day after day, hoping alongside his family, the search teams, and the Calgary community creates a real emotional connection. Grief doesn’t only belong to those who knew someone personally, it can also be felt by those who carried hope for them.

To Parker’s family, there are no words that can lessen this unimaginable pain. My heart is with you.

To the Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department, search and rescue teams, volunteers, and every community member who searched, shared his photo, checked their property, or simply refused to give up, thank you. You gave Parker every possible chance to be found. Your dedication, compassion, and determination will never be forgotten.

Please take care of yourselves tonight. This news is incredibly difficult and may bring up strong emotions, especially for parents, first responders, those with lived trauma, and anyone who has been following this case closely. Reach out to someone you trust, connect with a counsellor, or contact a crisis service if you need support. You do not have to carry heavy moments like this alone.

Rest peacefully, sweet Parker. You were loved by so many.
