Making Waves Swim School

We have been producing confident swimmers for over 30 years! We have locations in Brampton, Milton, Mississauga, Vaughan, Oakville and Guelph.

Our extensive learn-to-swim programs ensure that everyone in the family can feel comfortable in the water! Making Waves Swim School has been providing award winning water safety programs for children and adults of all ages since 1994. At Making Waves, you will find an energetic, talented group of people dedicated to the success of each and every child in their swim program. Co-owners, Stephanie and Tiernan Murphy and their passionate staff offer aquatic programming very different from what you might find at your neighbourhood recreation centre. The teaching method at Making Waves is unique in its ‘hand-on’ approach at every level. Swim classes are both fun and challenging and the caring, animated staff will keep your child smiling and safe!

From one backyard pool to 8,000 swimmers every week. 🌊

32 years ago, Making Waves started small. Really small. Today, we’re making it happen with 6th locations and welcoming thousands of swimmers into the pool every week.

A lot has changed since the beginning, but the heart of what we do hasn’t.

It’s starting to feel cooler outside, bit it’s constantly warm in here. 💦🍂

Our pools stay comfortably warm all season long, helping swimmers feel relaxed, confident and ready to learn- even when the temperature starts dropping outside.

A comfortable swimmer is a swimmer who can focus on having fun, building skills and making progress. 💙

A well-deserved spotlight for Ayaan, Mississauga’s Wavemaker of the Month! 🎉🌊

After taking the school year off, Ayaan came back this summer and jumped right in like he never left. From stepping up for fill-ins to bringing great energy, focus and care to every shift, he’s been making a big impact on swimmers, families and the team.
