Broncos Athlete of the Week! 🐎

Baynes Lake, BC’s own Olivia Blumhagen stole the show for the Broncos over the weekend saving 80% of the shots on goal, including a shutout win against Augustana on Sunday. The first year keeper made several big saves, all while playing through a lower body injury. Olivia has improved steadily from the start of the season and is now one of the top keepers in the ACAC. Congratulations Olivia Blumhagen 💪

Broncos Athletes of the Week! 🐎

Olds College Broncos Women's Soccer Assistant Captain Grayson Bamford was a warrior over the weekend for the Broncos at the Centerback position. She helped shut down SAIT’s league leading offense for the majority of the 3-0 loss on Saturday. Grayson was instrumental again on Sunday at home preserving a 2-2 draw with Ambrose. Her physicality, leadership and offensive abilities were on full display the entire weekend.

Olds College Broncos Men's Soccer Dawson Bignell delivered a superb second-half performance against Ambrose this past weekend, stepping up when his team needed him most. Defensively, Dawson was outstanding, winning every single battle he was involved in and setting the tone with his intensity and determination . He carried that impact into the offensive end as well, playing a key role in most of the Broncos’ attacking opportunities as they led the charge in an impressive second-half comeback. Although the Broncos ultimately fell short, Dawson’s performance was a standout example of the effort, resilience, and two-way play that makes him a deserving Athlete of the Week.

Broncos Athletes of the Week!

German International, Greta Riemenschneider, had a weekend to remember for the Olds College Broncos. The ultra-talented, unselfish midfielder was instrumental in helping the Olds College Broncos Women's Soccer to their first win of the season over LPK 4-1 on Sunday. In that game Greta had a goal and 2 assists. She also added 2 assists vs MHC on Saturday. Her goal and her four assists were all highlight-reel-worthy plays.

In just his second game in a new position at center back, Mael showed impressive composure and maturity in the back line. He was calm under pressure, made smart decisions, and provided stability throughout the defensive unit. His defensive display was outstanding, winning multiple duels both in the air and on the ground. Most impressively, he stood strong in several dangerous 2v1 situations, making crucial interventions that prevented chances that could easily have resulted in goals. A commanding and composed performance that showed he is quickly adapting to his new role.
