International Compost Awareness Week is more than a celebration for Worm Wrangler — it reflects the heart of what Worm Wrangler is doing every day.
Composting helps bring nutrient cycles to life by turning food scraps and organic waste into healthy, living soil. Through vermiculture, we get to see those cycles happen up close with the help of earthworms transforming waste into one of nature’s most powerful soil amendments: worm castings.
At Worm Wrangler, we believe learners of all ages should have the chance to connect with the science happening beneath our feet. Whether through workshops, our Worm Petting Zoo, or hands-on compost education, our goal is to make soil health, decomposition, and nutrient cycling visible, interactive, and inspiring.
Healthy soil starts with understanding the cycle — and we’re proud to help bring that story to life.
Happy International Compost Awarness Week everyone!

Special! FREE Root Rescue with Online Orders!
I have some Root Rescue that will expire this spring, and I’d love to get it into your gardens ASAP!
Root Rescue is a beneficial mycorrhizal fungi inoculant that helps plants develop stronger, healthier root systems. These fungi form a natural partnership with plant roots, helping improve nutrient and water uptake — especially during transplanting and early growth.
It pairs beautifully with vermicompost (worm castings)!
Vermicompost adds organic matter, nutrients, and beneficial microbes to the soil, while Root Rescue helps expand the plant’s root network to better access all that goodness. Together, they help support healthier plants, stronger growth, and improved soil biology.
FREE 22.5g Root Rescue with online orders over $50
FREE 45g Root Rescue with online orders over $100

What a fantastic day at Seedy Saturday at the Exeter Public Library!
It was inspiring to see so many gardeners, seed savers, and curious learners come together to share seeds, knowledge, and a love of growing. Events like this are such a powerful reminder of how community and sustainability go hand in hand.
Grateful to have been part of it—already looking forward to next year!

Did you know soil is like mother nature's Prozac?
"It seems soil may contain antidepressant and anti-anxiety microbes. Preclinical research indicates that some fungi and bacteria in our soil may influence neurotransmitter production. A bacterium of particular interest, Mycobacterium vaccae, has been found to stimulate serotonin production in mice, improving stress resilience, cognitive function, and more (Matthews et al., 2013; Juarez et al., 2022)."

Just another reason to vermicompost and play in the dirt all year round.

Just me and the worms!
Did you know that Worm Wrangler is a one-person (and a gazillion worm) operation?
Behind every batch of composting worms, bag of vermicompost, classroom visit, workshop, and market booth… it’s just me — plus a whole lot of hardworking worms turning food scraps into living soil. I have occasional volunteer help from kids, a partner and any poor sap who befriends me!
The worms may do the heavy lifting underground, but together we’re on a mission to build healthier soil, grow better food, and keep nutrients cycling where they belong.
Thanks for supporting a small, worm-powered business!
