Still carrying this feeling from yesterday. ❤️🌿

This is me. Filled with joy and a very full heart.

Getting to grow this new part of Three Pines and bring outdoor play into a different community has been such a wonderful experience. Yesterday was one of those days where I came home with that good kind of tired. Fulfilled, happy, and still full of positive energy.

Seeing children and families creating, playing, getting messy, laughing, and simply enjoying being outside together filled my cup. 🌿

And to top it all off, my own family was there with me, enjoying every minute of outdoor play too. ✨️

Three Pines Outdoor and Nature Play started small, and seeing it grow in new ways while still staying true to what I love most about it feels pretty special.

My heart is full. ❤️

This is SO worth a watch! ❤️

Architect Takaharu Tezuka shares the thinking behind an incredible kindergarten designed around how children naturally move, play, explore and learn.

And ahhh, so much of this speaks to me.

Running Three Pines Outdoor and Nature Play, working alongside children outdoors every day, and sitting on the Board of Directors for Outdoor Play Canada, these are things I am so passionate about.

Children are incredibly capable. They need opportunities to move their bodies, explore their environment, make their own decisions, take healthy risks, connect with others and simply PLAY.

I also love the reminder that the environment itself can be a teacher. We don't have to direct every moment of children's learning. Sometimes it's about creating the space, giving them time and trusting them to explore it in their own way.

There is so much learning that happens when children are given that freedom and trust.

This. So much of this. ❤️🌲

One more Play in the Park! 🌳🧡

Tomorrow is my last session with the Shawnee-Evergreen Community, and I’ve truly loved being part of this series.

It has been so much fun watching children and families come together to play, create, explore and simply spend time outside.

We’re finishing the season with a little fall harvest fun 🍎🎃

We’ve played, explored, created, discovered, shared snacks, made new friends — and watched the park become a place where families come together and children simply enjoy being outside.

This Sunday is our 8th and final Play in the Park session for the season — and our 4th session with Rochellie of .

The response to this SECA initiative has been wonderful, and we’d love to see you there for a big finish!

Come for the games and activities. Stay for the snacks, smiles and good times. Bring your family, invite a neighbour and enjoy one more afternoon together at the park.

You know that first crisp morning when you can just feel the season changing?

Children feel it too.

But while we might notice the cooler temperature, they’re noticing everything else. The changing colours, leaves crunching under their boots, new things on the ground to investigate, and of course... the giant pile of leaves that needs to be thrown into the air again and again. 🍂

That’s what I love about outdoor and nature-based learning.

As the environment changes, so do the opportunities to learn.

✨️ Children notice, wonder, ask questions, make connections and find completely new ways to play in places they already know.

We don’t always have to create the learning opportunity.

Sometimes we just need to add another layer, head outside and see what the season gives us.

The weather may be changing, but the learning doesn’t stop with it. 🧡
