I am so proud that Nova Scotia has taken this important step. My son is healthy after a successful pancreas and kidney transplant and I thank the donors and their families who made it possible. ❤️

Tomorrow, Jan. 18, Nova Scotia will become the first jurisdiction in North America to adopt presumed consent legislation for organ and tissue donation.

In 2019, I was proud to table Bill 133, the Human Organ and Tissue Donation Act, and very pleased it passed with unanimous consent. Organ and tissue donation is important to many Nova Scotians, to me personally and to our government.

The Nova Scotia Young Liberals helped bring this issue forward. And for Bradley, Bill 133 is personal. At the age of 19, he received an emergency kidney transplant.
