Last week was a busy and exciting one as learners took part in both Drone School and Spray Drone Bootcamp at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus.

Learners spent the week building their knowledge and practical skills in drone operations, gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading technology and learning how drones are transforming modern agriculture. From flight training to spray application techniques, participants had the opportunity to learn directly from experienced instructors and industry experts.

Both courses were hosted in collaboration with LandView Drones, Valley Precision Ag and the Atlantic Institute for Digital Agriculture

After 22 weeks of learning, hands-on experience, and personal growth, we are proud to celebrate the graduation of Bridge into Agriculture's Class of 2026!

The program concluded with a special certificate ceremony at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, where graduates had the opportunity to tour the beautiful campus gardens and reflect on everything they have accomplished throughout the program.

We were honoured to hear inspiring remarks from Dr. Heather Bruce, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Minister Twila Grosse, Minister of African Nova Scotian Affairs. Both recognized the dedication and achievements of our graduates as they prepare for the next steps in their horticultural journeys.

Congratulations to all graduates for your hard work, perseverance, and commitment. We look forward to seeing the positive impact you will make in Nova Scotia's agriculture industry and beyond!

What a fantastic weekend at the 4-H Pro Show! ✨🐴🐄🐑🚜

We spent the weekend representing Dalhousie Agricultural Campus at Pro Show in Bridgewater, and what a wonderful weekend it was.

We connected with the agricultural community, talked to 4H members about their hands-on learning, and witnessed the many pathways and possibilities within agriculture and 4H.

Wishing all the competitors the best of luck on their final show day today.

Registration is now open for the Alberta Master Gardener Program!

Interested in improving your gardening skills? Get together with other gardeners who share a passion for horticulture and are dedicated to learning and growing their knowledge to share with their community or those wanting to become a certified Master Gardener. The program consists of four independent-study courses available online.

Courses have open enrollment meaning you can enroll and begin at any time.

Tuition: $499 per course

Courses start October 1, 2026, and end July 31, 2027. Those interested may register anytime between now and January 31, 2027.

Carol Goodwin has been a pillar of horticulture at the Faculty of Agriculture for more than 40 years! A retired Associate Professor in the Department of Plant, Food and Environmental Sciences, Carol has taught a wide range of subjects, including arboriculture, landscape management, garden history, garden design, and plant identification and use.

Her expertise and passion for horticulture have extended far beyond our institution - Carol has also lectured in England and Finland! She has worked as a horticulture professional since 1975 and has had a profound impact on countless students, colleagues, and industry professionals throughout her career.

Carol was instrumental in the development of the Atlantic Master Gardeners Association and the Master Gardener Training Program. Her contributions to gardening education and outreach across our region & beyond are immeasurable.

Please join us in congratulating Carol on her retirement as an instructor of the Master Gardener program at the Faculty of Agriculture!
