This day is in recognition of the invaluable contributions of these dedicated professionals who play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of young children, fostering their development, and nurturing their potential.

Let's recognize the tireless efforts of ECEs who create safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments by providing love, care, and educational support during the critical early years.

Join us in celebrating National AccessAbility Week from May 31 to June 6, 2026! This year’s theme, “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada,” highlights the importance of equal opportunities for everyone. Let’s also recognize the individuals, organizations, and workplaces that are breaking barriers and fostering a more inclusive education system.

June is also LGBTQ+ Pride Month, a time to recognize the history, resilience, and contributions of the 2SLGBTQI+ community while advocating for equal rights and visibility.

June is National Indigenous History Month across Canada, a dedicated time to celebrate and honor the rich histories, cultures, resilience, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Don’t forget to request transportation!

If your child is staying at the same school, there is no need to request transportation.

If your child is eligible for bus transportation and is:
• Grading up to a new school,
• Starting Primary or Pre-primary for the first time,
• Going to have a new address in September,
• New to CCRCE
You will need to request transportation for the 2026-2027 school year.

May 15th is Black Excellence Day!
Black Excellence Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions Black individuals have made to schools, communities, and society. It is an opportunity to uplift these achievements and ensure that these stories, experiences, and voices are seen, valued, and heard.

Red Dress Day 2026, held every May 5th, is a National Day of remembrance and activism honouring the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People (MMIWG2S+).
