The Faculty of Agriculture recently welcomed colleagues Nancy, Abdillahi and Martin from Mombasa, Kenya, within the Kenya Blue Economy Skills Training project. Funded by Global Affairs Canada and managed by Colleges and Institutes Canada, the objective of the project is to develop youth education projects in Kenya that prepare learners for employment in the Blue Economy. Our guests from Mombasa were visiting Dalhousie to learn how we support learners through work-integrated learning. Additional thanks to NSCC Akerley Campus, Dalideahub, Africville Museum, Millbrook Cultural & Heritage Centre and the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia for welcoming our visitors during their learning tour of Nova Scotia!

Kenneth Stanley "Ken" Marchant (1935-2026) 06/22/2026

We are sad to share that longtime (and inaugural) NSAC Director of Athletics, Ken Marchant, passed away June 16, 2026. Ken made major contributions to campus and to Atlantic Canadian college varsity athletics during his career, leading to his induction into the CCAA Hall of Fame in 2014. The KS Marchant Award, presented to Dal AC student athlete(s) with the highest GPA in degree and technology programs in their first semester while carrying a minimum of four courses, continues to be awarded in his honour every year.
A celebration of life will be held at Community United Church (formerly Brunswick Street United Church), Truro June 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm. More details can be found at the link below.

Dalhousie students are wrapping up an amazing trip to South Africa for their Wildlife Ecology in South Africa field course.

Students explored the Tsitsikamma Marine Protected Area, did nature hikes, game drives at the Amakhala Game Reserve both in vehicles and on horseback, participated in a Rhino procedure, and learned a variety of skills through labs such as mist netting, and camera trapping. Thank you to our wonderful partners at Rhodes University, for making this experience possible for our students Amakhala Game Reserve
