🎬 DAY 38 OF 50 — THINK ABOUT: COLOUR
Don’t wait for the green light.
Colour can start on the page.
Not everywhere.
Not everything.
Just where it matters.
A red scarf.
Beat-up green sneakers.
A bright yellow envelope sitting in an almost colourless room.
Suddenly a character has a signature.
A prop has power.
A location has a feeling.
Our attention has somewhere to go.
Colour can suggest mood and meaning too—but be careful with the easy answers.
Red can warn—or seduce.
Blue can soothe—or isolate.
White can feel pure—or empty.
Context changes everything.
And then filmmaking does something wonderful:
reality shows up.
You imagined blue.
Your actor arrives with extraordinary green eyes.
The location has amber walls you never pictured.
The perfect prop only comes in red.
Good.
NOTICE. ADAPT. USE IT.
Share your ideas with cinematography, wardrobe, production design and props—and stay open to what they bring back.
Because preparation isn’t about locking everything down.
It’s about having something worth talking about.
Write the colour that matters.
Stay open to the colour you find.
