This morning our Grade 3 class lead a beautiful assembly honouring Terry Fox and the Terry Fox Foundation 🍁

All JK to Grade 6 students and staff then took to the streets and ran for Terry, cancer research, and many friends and family members dear to our hearts affected by cancer.

The run of course ended off with well deserved popsicles!

Thank you to all our parent volunteers for helping us keep everyone safe and cheering on our incredible students during this community event! 💙

JICS was honoured to host Andre De Grasse, one of Canada’s most celebrated Olympians, yesterday morning 🇨🇦🥇

Our JK to Grade 6 students, along with parents and staff, were treated to a special preview screening of two inspiring episodes from Andre’s new series with CBC Kids On Track with Andre De Grasse, exploring themes of sport, perseverance, resilience, and growing up! 🎬

Andre was interviewed by Luke, our Phys Ed teacher, and generously shared his experiences with our students. He also thoughtfully responded to questions from the audience, making for a truly memorable morning.

➡️ If you’re interested in supporting Andre’s work with young people, donations can be made to the Andre De Grasse Fam Foundation a charitable foundation dedicated to inspiring and empowering youth through access to sport, education, and healthcare. The foundation provides young people with opportunities to discover and reach their own unique potential. 💙
