In today’s complex and interconnected financial system, early detection and effective crisis response are critical skills for financial supervisors.

Through group activities and an interactive simulation, this program equips participants with the practical tools and frameworks needed to monitor the financial sector, respond to early warning signs, and take decisive action when facing an impending crisis, such as a failing bank.

Participants will also examine how supervisory authorities coordinate with one another and with other domestic and international bodies during a crisis.

This virtual, five-half day, cross-sectoral program cultivates in-depth knowledge about the supervisor’s role in developing successful green and sustainable financial markets and instruments.

Program Outcomes:

- Build green taxonomies and supervisory frameworks, using green bonds and other green financial instruments
- Reduce greenwashing within institutions and jurisdictions
- Understand blended finance and how to responsibly unlock capital for green and transition projects.

Digital financial products are transforming financial services, bringing new opportunities, and new supervisory challenges. This program provides practical tools and insights to effectively supervise digital financial services (DFS) while safeguarding financial stability and supporting financial inclusion.

Upon completing the program, participants will improve their understanding of risks to financial stability, consumer protection, and market integrity arising from DFS, understand how to develop and implement appropriate risk-based approaches for DFS, and enhance their capacity to oversee DFS in a way that supports both financial stability and inclusive financial sector development.

This is an elective Level 2/Effective program of our Certified Financial Supervisor (CFS) designation, and is open to both CFS participants and non-CFS participants.

Today, Toronto Centre began our Climate and Biodiversity Loss: Scenario Analysis and Stress Testing Program, the second program in our Climate Risk Certification (CRC).

46 participants from 22 countries gathered to deepen their understanding of climate risks and biodiversity loss through advanced analytical techniques, and to examine how different countries implement climate stress testing, practices, innovations, and regulatory expectations.
