Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in Quality Improvement (QI) and patient safety? The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (UTIHI) has opened applications to its Practical Experience Program for 2025-2026!

UTIHI’s Practical Experience Program matches UofT Students to hospitals/clinics in Toronto and the GTA. Students then complete a project in QI/Patient Safety and have the opportunity to showcase their work during our conference!

QI projects are an opportunity for students to gain experience leading system-level improvements in healthcare. Students have opportunities to address complexities within our healthcare system, and apply the fundamental principles of QI to issues within our community. As a lead, you will get practical experience to make a lasting impact.
