We hope you join us as we continue the sketchy tradition at The Duke of Kent on Yonge Street.

Celebrating our tenth year in Toronto, Dr. Sketchy's, the original anti-art school, returns to The Duke of Kent for more fun figure drawing with a burlesque twist. Sincere thanks to our artists, our models, our sponsors and of course Brett Despotovich, Katherine Piro, and Brynne Kennedy who started Dr. Sketchy's at the Cameron House on Queen West in 2007, and to Jeremy Cardarelli and Lauri Lewis who brought it back at The Round in Kensington Market.

What if we returned for a few classes in the coming weeks? Just to test the frigid waters. Would you be interested? It's been a while. The pandemic thwarted our original plans to return in early 2020.

Now, with renewed interest from some of the Sketchy faithful, reopened venues, and safety protocols meaning we can plausibly think about doing this again, we want to hear from you!

Off the top, we'll need to ensure our posing performers are paid well after being away from the stage for so very long, so the admission cost will now be $20. Naturally, we'd be following all public safety measures too.

Let me know your thoughts or questions in the comments, or DM me directly. Keep in mind, nothing is in stone yet, so I'll do my best to answer you as quickly as I can.

Thanks! Stay Sketchy. Stay well.
Keith

We hope you have a
happy Pride, everyone!

known as Dr. Sketchy's :))

That's all folks! Yes, we at Dr. Sketchy's Toronto have put our paintbrushes down and closed-up shop. Our absence in recent months was due to scheduling conflicts while trying to find the time required to do it properly outside of our dizzying schedules and day jobs.

This was a class we truly enjoyed running and we're sad to have to draw the curtains on a figure-drawing event we've had the pleasure of running since 2016, especially since we just celebrated our 10th Anniversary last year.

..but...

We may return under a new name and an updated format in the coming months if we can make it a fun and financially-feasible venture. Any updates will be found at these same social media links -- so don't un-Follow or un-Like our pages yet! We value those who've taken the time to connect with us online.

In the meantime, feel free to DM us your ideas on what a new class should look like and what types of performers you'd like to see posing.

Lastly, we'd like to give heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors: The Condom Shack (they are closing January 31st – go visit them!), West End Comics, Paradise Comics, BMV Bookstores, Curry's Artist's Materials, The Drake Hotel and The Duke of Kent.

We'd also like to thank the incredibly talented (and patient) burlesque performers who graced our stage; October, Judge Jeff, and of course, the hundreds of talented artists who paid their hard-earned money to take a class at Toronto's Only Anti-Art School. We hope you enjoyed it.

Until next time, stay tuned and stay Sketchy!

Love & pencils & pasties,
Keith & the Dr. Sketchy's Toronto Crew
