Store Tax: How to explain it to your child?

Parents, don’t open your eyes too wide, it’s actually simple! 😅

Here is a simple script to help them understand:

Step 1: The Tag
"See this toy? The tag says $10. That is the money the toy store gets to keep for making such a cool toy."

Step 2: The 'Extra'
"But when we pay, the cashier asks for a little bit more. That’s called a Tax."

Step 3: The Community Bucket
"Think of tax like a 'Community Bucket.' This money goes to the government, and they use that bucket to pay for things everyone shares, like the park where you play or the roads we drive on to get here!"

Step 4: The Total
"So, even though the tag says $10, we bring a little extra to the cashier to help keep our city clean and safe."
